The best way to find a professional is by word of mouth. See the works of photographers
and videographers before engaging their services.
Have good rapport with the professionals and they will understand your
expectations. Also, it is a good idea to keep a family member with the professional
to inform him about family member. This way he will take photos of all the right
people!
Important points to ask the photographer
Are you available on the date of the wedding?
Do
you have a backup photographer available in case of emergency? Will there be an assistant
assisting?
What equipment do you use? Do you have a backup equipment if your
equipment jams?
How many rolls of film will you shoot? Do you give back the negatives
or can we buy them?
Can we meet before the ceremony?
If you intend to take black and white photos too, ask if the
photographer if he/she can work in both black-and-white and color? Will he use another
photo equipment for black-and-white? Does the cost change then?
What are the costs for albums, proofs and prints? Do you require a
deposit? How much? When will it be due?
Do you offer any wedding packages?
Are you aware of the location selected? Did you work there before?
Do you take both posed and candid shots?
How long after the wedding will we receive our finished
photographs/albums?
Once missed, this occasion can never be
recaptured!
To avoid any unforeseen eventuality, have alternative arrangements.
